Hybrid flooring is a term that describes a range of different products that comply with the Australian Standard AS1884 as Modular Multilayer Flooring. From the term, it is obvious that there are several layers, with a wear-resistant textured top layer, a decorative one and some rigid or semi-rigid composite substrate.
What does SPC stand for?
SPC stands for Stone Polimer Composites. It is engineered using a combination of stone powders and polymers while WPC, Wood Polimer Composites have wood flour and bamboo dust in the composites.
All hybrid flooring products are moisture resistant and this makes the product ideal for areas that are exposed to water such as kitchens, laundries and hall entries. Maintenance is easy as it can be wet-mopped unlike laminate or timber flooring. Hybrid flooring is easy to install, and hard-wearing so it makes this flooring option very durable.

When you clean it, for example, simply use a non-rinsing cleaner that leaves no film. Most products sold as vinyl cleaners fit the bill. To keep your vinyl flooring looking new, follow these simple tips:
- Use felt pads on chairs and table legs, and other furniture, to avoid scratching the floor.
- Avoid putting rubber-backed rugs on vinyl flooring – the rubber can stain the floor.
- Put a heavy-duty doormat at your front door and encourage visitors to wipe their feet. This is especially true if you have an asphalt driveway; the chemicals in asphalt can cause the vinyl flooring to turn yellow.
- Remove stains as soon as possible with an appropriate no-rinse floor cleaner and wipe the area with a damp cloth to remove any residue.
